The
FUSION-CRETEŽ concrete-adhesive / enhancer was mixed with a fast-setting
(1 hour), high early strength cement and silica sand for use on
the lower steps. Note that the upper steps (Portland cement) are
gray in color and the lower steps (rapid-setting cement) are tan
in color. The rapid-setting cement was used for the lower steps,
setting up solidly in I hour, so that these steps will not be vulnerable
to damage when the high tide comes in after working hours. Note
the rusted, exposed steel rebar at the base of the stairway railing.
This rebar was thoroughly wire-brushed to remove the rust and then
coated with a highly-concentrated FUSION-CRETEŽ "premix" solution
as a rust-inhibitor.
