 |
This
turn-of-the-century concrete lamppost has suffered substantial
deterioration from the elements through the passing years. |
|

|
This
deterioration has occurred in several areas in which there is
angular detailing and shaping of this old lamppost. |
 |
The
metal access cover-plate has also been rusted and discolored. |
 |
The
lamppost, as well as the metal access cover-plate, have been nicely
repaired and subsequently re-coated with the use of FUSION-CRETE II
CRYSTALS, the powdered form of our vinyl/copolymer concrete-adhesive/enhancer.
This product will permanently bond the repair concrete to concrete,
asphalt, metal, wood, fiberglass, Styrofoam, masonry, tile and other
surfaces. The metal access cover-plate was thoroughly cleaned, wire-brushed
and primed prior to the application of a concrete coating. |
 |
Here
you see the base of this lamppost beautifully restored, including
all of the angular details of the lamppost's design. No forms were
needed, as the dry repair mixture may be shaped and sculpted immediately
after placement. The coating mixture was applied with a sponge, repeatedly
dipped into a slurry mix, in order to achieve a texture similar to
that of the original lamppost. |
 |
The
top portion of this lamppost has also sustained minimal deterioration
and weathering. |
 |
This
photograph shows the upper portion of the lamppost following
some minor repair work and the re-coating of the entire lamppost with
a FUSION-CRETEŽ II CRYSTALS slurry mixture to camouflage the repair
work and to give the lamppost a uniform, new look. |
